Overview

What we built

Ironside Barber Co. is a template demo, not a live client site: a from-scratch build with no existing brand and no existing customer, just a target market. We built it exactly the way we'd build it for a paying client — brand first, then a site that actually earns its keep — to show what that process looks like end to end.

The identity starts with a custom razor-medallion mark, drawn as an SVG rather than pulled from an icon set, paired with a clean white base and a red/black accent system. The same mark doubles as the site's favicon, and a bottom-corner toggle bubble swaps the whole palette into a proper dark mode — no flash of the wrong theme on load, no half-finished dark mode that just inverts the colours.

Everything below the brand is built to actually run a shop: a team section that puts real faces on the barbers, a rotating reviews block sitting next to static Google and Tripadvisor scores, a clickable address that opens straight into Google Maps, and pricing in euros on a 24-hour clock for the local market. The booking section is Calendly-ready — until a link is added it shows a clean placeholder instead of a broken embed.

Highlights

What's actually on the site

Brand identity, from zero

A custom razor-medallion logo mark built as an SVG, reused as the favicon, anchoring a clean white base with a red/black accent system.

Dark mode, done properly

A bottom-corner toggle bubble swaps the full palette via CSS custom properties, with no flash of the wrong theme on load.

Booking-ready, not booking-broken

The appointment section detects an empty calendar link and shows a clean placeholder instead of a broken embed — add a real link and it just works.

A face behind the chair

A three-barber team section with portraits, roles and bios, so the shop feels staffed before a client ever walks in.

Real trust signals

Google and Tripadvisor rating badges in the hero and reviews section, with the featured quote rotating through reviews while the scores stay fixed.

Built for the Amsterdam market

Euro pricing, a 24-hour clock, and a clickable address that opens straight into Google Maps.
